Check your oil level to make sure the fuel pressure did not force gas past the needle valve and into the crankcase. This would thin the oil enough to lower the oil pressure. If the oil smells like gas change it and get a vented cap.

2018-12-27 · The "standard" cap is vented. All filler necks on 65-69 have the dimple. The cap gasket is not replaceable on the caps I ve seen. I ve added an extra Moroso vent tube for my Sniper EFI. I would love to have an un-vented cap. They don t seem to exist. Maybe there is a cap from another car model that is unvented that fits on a Ford.
2012-6-17 · What I have instead of a vented gas cap is a vent on top of the tank that leads thru a check valve then into what I ve come to understand is a charcoal canister. As far as I can tell the check valve is installed the proper way (arrow on the valve points from the tank to the canister).

Because the fuel tank is pressure-driven from a fuel pump and gas naturally expands and evaporates a large amount of pressure can build up inside the fuel system over time. This second kind of pressure is taken care of through the operation of the fuel pump mechanism as the vented gas cap needs to be the one-way flap to keep evaporated gas fumes in.

2009-7-22 · I had the same problemmany years ago. I bought a new Stant vented gas cap and within a day blew my stock fuel pump and dumped about a gallon of fuel into the oil pan (through the fuel pump body). What I want is a VENTED gas cap that would fit my mower. The one that came with the mower is not vented and the replacement cap in your diagram does not appear to be vented. The mower always starts easily when cold. DO NOT USE CHEAP GAS. 5. One of the problems you seem to have is a phenomenon called "VAPOR Lock".

2013-8-6 · I have the CA emissions and non-vented gas cap. I get a small woosh when I crack the cap lasting just a few seconds. I would think the force and duration of your cap venting / "whooshing" would also vary with the amount of fuel vs air in the tank and the temperature.
